Welcome to the Stigmi privacy policy!

This document will go over what Stigmi collects and what it does with it, and also, your rights with that collected data.

The gist is: Stigmi collects general data from you on signup, such as your username, display name, the password you provide, any media you post (whether that being your avatar or media in Stigs), and basically anything self-served.

1. What is collected. Your username, display name, password, bio, an optional location field, website links, avatar image, and whatever you post as Stigs, replies, follows, Favorites, and Restigs.
2. No email required. Signing up doesn't require an email address or any other contact info... yet.
3. Cookies and analytics. Stigmi sets a single session cookie so you stay logged in. Stigmi, as a service, does not use ad trackers, analytics pixels, or third-party scripts. However, Cloudflare Analytics are enabled for the entire exerinity.com domain, so a beacon script is injected. You can read about that here. Cloudflare's privacy policy can be found here.
4. Storage. The database is local and on the same machine running Stigmi itself. Any media, either Stigs or profile pictures, are also stored locally, and sanitized (i.e., EXIF location data, device info, audio metadata) during upload.
5. Publicity. Your username, display name, bio, location, links, avatar, and Stigs are public to anyone by default. You can change this: by either restricting your profile to only logged in users, or your followers. You can also restrict who can see Stigs you have favorited. These can be changed here.
6. No distribution. Your data, or anyones data, is not shared to any other parties by Stigmi.
7. Right to Deletion and Export. You can export all your data, delete any individual Stig, or your entire account yourself at any time. Past profile pictures are not stored - when you change it, the old one is deleted. Any media attached to Stigs is also immediately deleted with the parent Stig.
8. Retention. Your data is kept for as long as your account is active. When you delete an individual Stig or your profile picture, it's removed immediately, as noted above. When you delete your account, all associated data - profile info, Stigs, media, follows, favorites - is deleted from the live database immediately.
